Tractors are heavy-duty agricultural machinery. Their parts are required to have high strength, good toughness, wear resistance, and low cracking properties. Therefore, cast iron is one of its main materials.
Materials and uses of cast iron parts on tractors:
The iron castings on tractors are generally made of gray cast iron and ductile iron.
Grey cast iron is a common cast iron that is inexpensive, easy to manufacture, and is mainly used to produce heavy-loaded parts.
Ductile iron is a new type of cast iron that has replaced gray cast iron. A small amount of rare metal elements such as magnesium or rare earth are added during casting to make the graphite in the cast iron into a spherical shape, thereby greatly improving the toughness and plasticity, tensile strength and impact strength of the casting material.
Our Dandong Foundry produces cast iron and ductile iron parts for tractors, including Counterweights, Exhaust Manifolds, Transmission Housings, Engine Blocks, Axle Casings, Wheel Hubs and Brackets, Hydraulic Components, etc.
